Fast facts about T9 Nav

T9 Nav™ FAQs
Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions about T9 Nav™. If you don't see your question here, ask us.
- How does T9 Nav work?
T9 Nav indexes everything on your device, including contacts, calendar entries, phone settings, music, etc. Then it makes everything it's found available to you so that you can access anything on your phone by typing the name of whatever you want using one key press per letter - right from the home screen.
- What devices does T9 Nav run on?
- Does T9 Nav come in any languages other than English?
T9 Nav™ has been translated to Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Turkish, and Ukranian.
T9 Nav™ can search in even more languages if all the characters are Latin or Cyrillic. T9 Nav™ does not work with Hebrew. If your phone is set to another language than those listed above, T9 Nav™ will default to displaying menu text in English.
- Will synchronizing my phone with my desktop or other application affect T9 Nav?
- How do I get one of the other available language versions of T9 Nav?
You must first change the language on your Nokia device (see phone user manual for instructions on how to do this) and then the phone should automatically reboot. T9 Nav will automatically reindex all of the content on the phone in the new language as long as it is one of the currently available T9 Nav languages (see above question).
- Do I have to select the first item in the results list to act on it?
- What are keywords?
A keyword is the name given to a "public bookmark" that points to a mobile site. Those keywords can be searched like any other content on the device. T9Nav offers for each region a large set of keywords and a keyword can either point to popular mobile site (e.g. facebook) or to some site that provides specific information or resources in a mobile setting (sport news, weather, ...).
- Are there any shortcuts available in T9 Nav?
- Why do I see so many search results come up when I dial a phone number?
- T9 Nav stopped working on my device. What do I do?
If you ever turn your phone off, T9 Nav should automatically restart when the phone turns on. You can see if it’s running by looking for the little circle above it in the applications page, as in the image below.

If for some reason it turns off when the phone is on, find the T9 Nav application and click on it to restart. See your phone user manual for instructions for finding the applications page and turning an application back on.
